Initial Situation

Various safety concepts, explosives management systems, SLF reports, explosives storage depots and purchase certificates, etc. have been used in the SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun. Many different types of information have to be retrieved from various platforms and tools and then promptly classified, assessed and documented. The aim of the project is to collect all available data, prepare it with the core team of Andermatt-Sedrun Sport AG‘s Patrol and Rescue Service and map it digitally in such a way that all relevant processes in the Patrol and Rescue Service can always be recorded and documented as up-to-date, easily accessible and comprehensible information.

Our solution: Integration of internal processes

Secure and fast documentation of the daily operation in the PRD, which fulfills the documentation obligation of the operation and thus legally secures it. The following steps of the integration of the internal processes have already been implemented:

Cockpit

  • Individual information platform with internal and external sources in the cockpit, e.g. weather data, avalanche reports, webcams
  • Communication within the team via the journal
  • Digitalization of daily operations in the cockpit: Documentation of slope inspections, accidents, avalanche observations, detonation logs, pending tasks in the Patrol and Rescue Service, events etc.

Cockpit (map)

  • Reproduction of the area information on a digital map, including all known avalanche starting zones and remote blasting systems
  • Documentation of detonations and avalanche mapping on the digital map, as well as other observations

RiskEval

  • Digital reproduction of the prepared situation assessment in RiskEval
  • Documentation of situation analysis, decision-making and action planning for avalanche protection
  • Communication to third parties via an automatically generated information email with extracts of the decisions made

ExploDoc

  • Reproduction of the accounting for explosives in ExploDoc: Intuitive booking processes that account for the input, transfer and removal of explosives as well as their usage
  • A log of all actions is generated automatically

The project in Andermatt-Sedrun is the first project to fully digitize the work of the Patrol and Rescue Service in the ski area via the WAC.3® platform.

Future

A further expansion of the modules and integration is planned. This includes the mobile tracking of blasting operations in the field, further interfaces to external external data sources and a cockpit as an information platform information platform for management.
